Treading Softly –DL - The Clifton Suspension Bridge near where I live in Bristol is sadly notorious for ‘jumpers’. A year or so ago one of these was a young woman. I started wondering, what if someone had caught her gaze, sussed out her despair, talked to her, changed her mind and she just walked on instead? To me, the emotion of Leif Alan Creed’s vocal really makes this song. I love his voice. FB - This is a song of huge emotional impact, thanks to a classic melody, a striking lyric and the beautiful vocal duet between Di and Al the legend. He’s an awesome guitarist but he shows here that like Johnny Cash, he could have a late career renaissance as vocal storyteller of great power and gravitas.
